  4. Welcome to our newest affiliate.

Is Lousy Robot’s “Hail the Conquering Fool” in fact a love-letter to their dear record label HIT?

We think so.  Opening track “Peacocks” states dryly, “I’m so sick of the peacocks… all they’ve got is their big talk and they all sound the same”  We at HIT feel this is a rather obvious reference to failed majors Sony, Capitol, Atlantic & all of the boring washed-up lot of them!

With such a clever way of seducing us we could not wait to get these hard hitting, hit making sons of bitches signed up as our newest affiliate.

Simultaneously with the launching of HIT Records newest affiliate in Albuquerque (with affiliates in Spain, San Diego and Spain) HIT Records will re-release the first three LPs in its hit-making arsenal plus the latest, greatest HIT record, Lousy Robot’s “Hail The Conquering Fool (HIT 007).”

Lousy Robot has a tentative release date of Jan 2011 but keep an eye on their web site (LousyRobot.com) for more info as things progress.

    Love,
    HIT!

  7. ATTENTION: PRESS RELEASE MEANT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TO THE PRESS. IMMEDIATELY.

Salim Nourallah, Dallas Texas’ patriarch and wet nurse of indie pop, Dallas Observer producer of the year, songwriter, record maker, hand shaker, baby maker and maker of other moving and shaking things, will soon leave one more footprint on the forehead of the local independent music scene. In May 2007, Nourallah, with affiliates in Spain, San
Diego, and Spain, will begin operating the independent major record label, HIT Records.

Simultaneously with the launching of HIT Records in Spain, San Diego and Spain, HIT Records will release the first three LPs in its hit-making arsenal. With the stated objective, “to locate, produce, and re-locate independent music that independent music lovers will resoundingly applaud”; a lofty objective, indeed. But with HIT Records, Nourallah and associates are sagely seeking to fill the void historically ignored by major labels too concerned with the effect on their bottom line, and by indie labels too concerned with their bottom sides. As those in the HIT Records corporate office are fond of saying: “If its not a HIT it aint worth a shit!”

A brief synopsis will now follow of the first 3 HIT releases (please feel free to feed the cat, take out the trash or rewind your Passion of the Christ videotape):

HIT 01: “The Falling of…” You may ask yourself, “who is falling?” You may ask yourself, “how did I get here?” Well, we at HIT records have at least one answer for you: John Kenny. John is a veteran of Dallas’ early 1990’s Deep Ellum scene when Pop Poppins popped and Tripping Daisy taught SMU kids how to smoke candy cigarettes. After many bitter years in the field, JK retired only to be pushed back in by the bitter shove of a crumbling marital relationship. This record is his musical therapy, a simultaneously lush but emotionally graphic record with boundless hooks and ladders to your heart. “The Falling Of…” is humble and tasteful, two things sure to garner platinum sales and a slot on the judge’s panel of American Idle season 47.

HIT 02: “The Last Ones on Earth” was made most astonishingly by The Last Ones on Earth. The first disciples discovered by Nourallah’s Spanish colleagues abroad. Santi De Los Muertos Dios, the masked voice behind T.L.O.O.E., is a legendary gypsy gunslinger and philanderer from the MOR country. He writes songs resonating with the passion of a man with little time on his hands and nothing better to do than spend it writing for YOU. Here he explores the timeless dilemmas of unrequited love and mortality. Santi’s visceral grip will leave you sweating and heaving in a heap on the floor. It’s an absolute page-turner; but not a book. It’s a CD, as we mentioned before.

HIT 03: “JD Whittenburg” was created by none other than J.D. Whittenburg. You see, HIT records cannot be bothered with silly adjective laden album titles. We are too busy making HITS. J.D. is well-known around North Texas as a folkabilly troubadour. He is also a shrewd businessman that has decided to sabotage the momentum of his grassroots support via frequent gigging with his band Trainwreck by releasing a pure pop record that many of his hard-earned fans will resoundingly scratch their heads to. Whittenburg’s songs of sin and salvation preserve the simple charm of the best Texas music but explore these motifs in a more elaborate, less musically clichéd, more melodically palatable setting: a goal masterfully achieved by aforementioned SN at Pleasantry Lane studios Dallas. HIT Records is duly excited about J.D growing apart from his loyal fan-base in order to share his art with a yet-to-be-determined demographic.

We at HIT records Dallas, Spain, San Diego and Spain hope you have a pleasant listening experience. Now sit back, relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of HIT 01 through 03.

    Adios!!
